This one is for all you dog lovers out there. We were having some ice cream and Cole couldn't resist taking this picture. And yes, the woman ate off the cone after sharing it. You should appreciate this one Lisa.
We made the kids some light weight blankets for summer time. Shailee picked out princesses and Hyrums blanket has all kinds of sports balls on it. That is his current obsession. We had too much fun trying to put them together.
We got desperate waiting for our swimming pool to open. It finally did on Friday, but not before we spent this afternoon with buckets of water on our back porch. By the end I had changed them into their swim suits and they were sitting in the buckets.

Our friends the Moores are moving to Tennessee this week. Their little boy is the one on the bike flexing his muscles. We will miss him and his family.

I was evesdropping the other day on Shailee and Hyrum playing together. She said," and you get this award for The Most Wonderful Boy in the World" and she stuck a sticker on his shirt. He stood there looking very pleased with himself. Then Shailee hugged him and they both clapped. It was just about the proudest moment of my life so far. Those cute babies.

We went to the farmer's market the other day and picked up our newest friend. His name is "Mr. Stripey" that is not us being creative that is the name of this particular type of tomatoe plant. It says so on the little tag that he came with. We had to give him a bigger pot, which was a fun process. I'm very excited about all of this because I've always wanted to grow something and have never had any success. But here in WV they say it's hard to kill plants off, so hopefully Mr. Stripey survives because we like him a lot already.

So, for all of you who thought Cole needed a little trim, here it is. He actually buzzed it himself a couple of weeks ago and decided it felt so great in the non air conditioned cabinet shop where he works that he's trying to keep it that way. He is letting Shailee practice her hair clipping skills. She did a great job. He let her do almost the whole thing. He offered a turn to Hyrum who gave him a "What are you doing?" look and backed away.

So Shailee likes to adopt her self out to other families. She has told me that she would like to be a Getcher or a Rhodes. I have stopped being offended by this because I realize that she just loves people. When we go anywhere she looks for familiar cars and immediately knows if one of her friends will be there. I think this has been a big advantage for her because we have moved a lot but she quickly finds new people to love, without replacing the people she already loves. I think it brings her and our family a lot of happiness. So, even though she would be ok with it, she is not up for adoption. She is such a joy in our lives with her curious, friendly, loving, strong willed nature. Here is a picture of Shailee with some of her best friends, the Rhodes girls, having a tea party.

My mind seems to draw blanks whenever I go to write anything on our blog. Maybe that has to do with the time of night I actually get the time to post. I am inspired by all of your blogs that I read. I feel like I really get to know people and what's going on in their lives. I'm probably afraid of writing too much and revealing my boring mind. But, I find my life interesting and my children wonderful and my husband nigh to perfect so I'll share anyway. Here are a few pictures of us enjoying the extra time with Cole that the summer brings.
