Key to my Heart

I owe a lot to this little key. I was thinking about that as I grabbed the mail from my parents box the other day. Over ten years ago my sister and I took a little walk up the street to check for letters from our EFY pen pals and I got my first letter from Cole Blair. For the next five years that key opened the box where his letters, like something magical, appeared. There is just something about knowing that somewhere out there is someone who knows you on paper and even though they are removed from life in your here and now, they are part of your life. It always made me feel like everything could go wrong, but my life could go on somewhere else, on the other side of the mailbox. I could write the best of me, and all I wanted and that was real on paper for my friend on the other end. And how marvelous when He became real in my here and now as we finally lived in the same place and dated and fell in love. How wonderful to hold the hand that wrote all those words that made my world bigger. I'm still in love with the scrawl of his signature, it still sends a little thrill through me when I see his handwriting on the grocery list, or a birthday card. So here is a little picture of the key to my heart. Happy mushy Valentines Day to all.

Roughly seven weeks to go and I haven't really taken any pictures of me carrying this little guy, so I thought it was about time to post a little something about the current experience. We have settled on a first name found on both sides of the family tree and the search continues for the middle name. I am amazed as always by the thought that this is truly a new little life inside me, soon to change our family forever, to bring with him joy and possibilities we cannot imagine. I can't wait to meet him. Shailee and Hyrum are so positive about the whole thing as well. The road has been a little more nauseating and exhausting than it was during my previous journeys to motherhood, but I cannot complain, I know I'm blessed to have this opportunity. Scared out of my mind, but I've had so much help from unseen sources in my life that I know it's all going to be ok. Loving it, looking forward to running again and bending and sleeping on my stomach and all that, but mostly to holding my new little guy.
