A little random

Here are a few random pictures along with more fun moments like playing at the children's museum, making cookies, and playing together on family night. I'm obviously not recording all 365 fun things to do together here. They are all in my journal, but here are a few more anyway.

Here are a few more of our fun moment ideas. Doing a workout video together, having a movie night, Making dinner together. The dinner was fun, Shailee did most of the work making a casserole and she was very intent on getting the right ingredients.

Spider man

Hyrum turned three and this hidden store of energy and stealth revealed itself it's a bit scary at times. The other day I lit a candle and set it high on the mantle thinking there was absolutely no way it could be reached by babies. A while later I went to blow it out. "I already blew it out" came Hyrum's voice. "How did you blow it out?" I asked skeptically. "I just climbed up there like a spider man." Ok, at least he climbed up to blow it out and not to play with it, but I will no longer doubt his abilities.

#3 Kool aid playdough

This stuff smells fabulous and doesn't dye hands or furniture. We've done this plenty of times before but it's always fun.

momentus occasion

Shailee woke up Saturday with a stomache ache, nerves raw. She had been awaiting this day for what seemed like years. I teared up watching her in class. Her face beaming, her eyes full of focus, she was made for this. She seemed so much older suddenly! It's so amazing watching this confident, poised, young lady that was my baby once upon a time. She later told me that she had expected to have to dance in front of an audience and that is why she was so nervous. I felt blessed partaking of her happiness.

#2 Riding a Carousel

We went to the mall today as a family to find some pants that would fit my largeness comfortably. So we made our memory a ride on the carousel because this is not something we would normally spend money on, but it is something that babies should get to do. Hyrum was very serious taking it all in, almost like he didn't know what hit him, but a few minutes after we got off he asked if we could ride it again. Shailee was all smiles.

365 Celebrations of Motherhood

I decided that I would make a New Year's resolution that is not only possible but for which I will have something tangible to show. 365 memories with my babies recorded.

#1 Painting with shaving cream.
Initially messy but very enjoyable. It rinses off the babies and wipes off everything else pretty quickly. Also leaves everything smelling pleasant. They were surprised that I was letting them make this mess at first but it didn't take long for them to go crazy. Shailee got busy writing things in hers and Hyrum painted his arms and then the chair behind him.

Tribute for two Troopers

My babies have endured quite the tumultuous year of change and held up beautifully. Some of those changes include...
January- Our car was attacked by a deer and in the end the deer won, we had to get a new car
February- I was hospitalized
March- Moved across the country without Cole
April- I was hospitalized again
May- The babies stayed with grandparents while I went back to get Cole
June- Reunited and moved into a new apartment
July- Cole still had not found work, babies felt the stress experienced by me and Cole
August- Mom got job, Dad got job
September- Moved again
October- Things calmed down a bit
November- Grandma is hospitalized
December- Mom preoccupied with work, holidays, and helping extended family
So I feel like these two deserve some kind of award. I am amazed at how they have remained loyal and kind to each other and optimistic about life.
