INTERRUPTIONS
"When you are exasperated by interruptions, try to remember that their very frequency may indicate the value of your life. Only people who are full of help and strength are burdened by other persons' needs. The interruptions which we chafe at are the credentials of our indispensability. The greatest condemnation that anybody could incur - and it is a danger to guard against - is to be so independent, so unhelpful, that nobody ever interrupts us, and we are left comfortably alone."

Coops
He is so close to walking. Taking a few steps here and there without realizing it and standing on his own occasionally. I know children eventually learn to walk. Why is it such an incredible thing when it is my own child. I feel like he is doing something astounding. He is incredibly busy these days. Nothing belongs on shelves, no toilet paper role is left intact, no pile of folded laundry remains folded, no drawer unemptied, and no cabinet unexplored and if one of us happens to walk close enough he lets go of the wall or the couch and hitches a ride on our pant legs so he can do some walking. All the while making as much noise as possible from growls to squeals to screaming. None of these noises are ment to be unpleasant he just wants to be heard. Things to say and things to do.
Shai
When Cole and I named her it was with the intent that someday her friends could easily shorten her name. We didn't know she would change it in Kindergarden we thought more like middle school or high school. But Shailee has always been like a little adult. The other morning she woke up before me. I was snuggling with Coops in my bed but he was tossing and turning. She asked if she could take him for me. She is good at entertaining him and keeping him from putting small objects in his mouth so I let her. When I came out of my room a little while later she had successfully changed a poopy diaper and poured cereal and milk for herself and Hyrum. I am blessed to have such a strong, motivated, and caring soul as my daughter.
Hy
He is a complex fellow. Mostly keeps his thoughts to himself. There are not many things in my world more beautiful than his little smile. It is honest and joyful. In our family we have a tradition of making eachother's beds and secretly leaving presents on Valentine's Day. We claim that it is the "Valentine Varment". So this year Hyrum and I took the priviledge upon ourselves while Cole and Shailee were at School and work. When I explained to Hyrum what we were doing he kept giggling because we were, "Vomiting" people's beds. I tried to explain the difference between the two words. I love when something strikes Hyrum as funny because he is oh so serious almost all the time.
Tonight Shailee and I ran out to grab some dinner and left the boys at home. While we were gone Cole was explaining to Hyrum how our bodies use a fever to fight infection. (Hy and Shailee have both had a little cold or something)He told Hyrum that the good cells are fighting the bad germs and they use heat to help them. Hyrum listening very seriously exclaimed, "Ouch, I felt them!" Then looking at Cole with a smile, "Just kidding."
